“You want me to say I’m…” – Wolves manager Bruno Lage on top 4 ambitions

Wolves are coming off of a 2-1 win over Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City and the idea of top four does no longer seem to be far-fetched. Wolves boss Bruno Lage, however, said that they won’t get carried away with their top-four chances.
Wolves boss Bruno Lage said: “Our life is a game at a time. Day-by-day. You want me to talk about the top four. We have to play 14 games. It is too many points to go to discuss that. When I came, no one knew me, we played three games, scored no goals and no points. You want me to say I want to go for the top four. I say game by game.
“Our process is very simple, see what happened in the last game and what we learned from it. Sometimes the systems are similar, Arsenal and Leicester have the same dynamic with the midfielders, we analyse opponents and prepare.
“Our mentality every time is to play the game with the ball. When we don’t have it we need to work. The wingers and the strikers are the first one to defend our goal. It is very simple.“
Talking about his motivation and the upcoming match against Arsenal, the Wolves boss said, “The motivation for me, my first year in the Premier League, tell me one team that doesn’t have big players and a manager with a big CV.
“Arsenal is a big club. Arteta was a top player who is doing well as a manager. Every game is a big challenge.”

Wolves manager on Europe aspirations

Wolves manager said that he wants to take the league game by game and not look too far into European spots.
He said, “I will tell you why – because you can be fired the next day,” Lage said of not dreaming about the Champions League.
“How many managers come, play four or five games in Premier League and they get sacked? You have contract and you can be fired the next day.
“It is our life – even if you are dreaming about some things you want to do in your life, you need to go with solid things.
“I want to play in the UEFA Cup and the Champions League with Wolves in each year, but what I know is I go and try to win the next game.”
Wolves are currently seventh in the Premier League table with two matches in hand and have a major encounter coming up against Arsenal who are also looking to secure a top 4 position. In their previous encounter, the Gunners won the fixture at Molineux 1-0 but Wolves gave a good account of themselves that night and perhaps deserved at least a draw.
