Manchester United has not been good on the football pitch for quite some time and while many must have thought the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo will be the answer to the club’s problems, that has not been the case. The Manchester United number 7 did have a good start to his return to his old club, but his form suffered a rapid dip just like the club.

When asked about how Don would fix the situation at Manchester United, the ESPN pundit said that he would try his best to bring in Edinson Cavani back to the team and play him in the number 9 role while moving Cristiano to the number 10 role.

In what was the latest edition of ESPN Extra Time, Don said, “I would find a way to try and get Cavani into my side, and I would play him alongside Ronaldo.

I’d say to Ronaldo, ‘You’re not a number 9 anymore Cristiano, you’re now a number 10. You’ve got a free role. Get on the ball, get in the 18-yard box, relax. Don’t be the number 9, Cavani will do all the running, he will do all the graphs.’

That’s how you will get Manchester United firing.”

As per reports via www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk, Ralf Rangnick’s running out of patience with Cristiano Ronaldo following the lack of goals from the Portuguese superstar. The 37-year old has only managed one goal in his last 10 games and appears to be lacking confidence for the first time in his career, although in his recent interview with DAZN, he revealed that he will continue playing for the next five years.

As of now, the only reason why Rangnick has not entertained the possibility of dropping Ronaldo is due to United’s lack of better options to spearhead their attack. Among the forwards this season, Striker Edinson Cavani has missed the last five games with a groin problem and scored twice all season, while Marcus Rashford has five goals in four-and-a-half months.
