‘For me Roger Federer will always be the GOAT’ : says former 4-time World Cup Champion
Lindsey Vonn the thirty six year old Olympic skier from the USA has named Roger Federer as her most favourite tennis player. She believes Rafael Nadal is incredible as well, but Federer is simply the best.
Vonn also likes the fact that Federer is so nice with fans in general. As far as the GOAT debate goes, Vonn has already named Roger the Greatest of all time. Lindsey is not the only celebrity who is vocal about Roger. There is Bradley Cooper, who is often seen present whether supporting from his US Open player’s box or Wimbledon’s Royal Box.
We also have Savannah Guthrie, the Today’s anchor who is a huge Federer supporter too. Federer has also been known to be on friendly terms with Tiger woods as well.
Roger Federer and his records
Recently Federer got overtaken by Novak Djokovic as the player who spent most weeks as World no.1. Before that Rafael Nadal had equaled Roger as the men’s player with the most number of Grand Slams. But there are some records that still belong solely to Roger Federer.
Federer is still the player to have spent the most consecutive weeks as World No.1. He was no.1 for 237 consecutive weeks. Federer has won the Wimbledon and the Dubai Tennis Championships both eight times which is a record. He is still the oldest man ever to have been World no.1. He achieved that feat at 36 years of age. Last but not the least, he has won the World Tour Finals six times, again a record.
