Indian Super League club Odisha FC have roped in the services of Victor Mongil ahead of the upcoming edition of the ISL, the club confirmed on Monday (July 26).

The Spanish defender represented ATK during ISL 2020. He played nine matches for the Kolkata-based club and played a key role in guiding them to the ISL trophy. After his stint in the Indian Super League, he joined Dinamo Tbilisi once again and made four appearances for the club during his second stint with them.

Victor Mongil played 36 matches for Tbilisi during his first stint with them. He also found the net once during the 2019 edition of the Erovnuli Liga. The centre-back is a key player and can stand strong like a wall and prevent players from getting past him.

The versatile player can play in various positions for the Odisha-based club. The club will look to make the best use of his services. They will want him to come good and help Odisha FC in lifting their maiden ISL trophy.

Speaking about the new signing, Club President Mr. Raj Athwal said, “We are very pleased to have secured the signature of Victor Mongil. A ball playing centre-back, he reads the game well and has a winning mentality having won the league twice while at Dinamo Tbilisi and in the Indian Super League with ATK. Having played in Europe and the UEFA Europa League, Victor will bring stability and experience to our defence and will be a major influence on our younger players.”
