Former Manchester City and Barcelona striker, Sergio Aguero, has hit back at Real Madrid and Vinicius Junior after they did not attend the Ballon d’Or gala where Rodri won the Ballon d’Or for the 2023/24 season in place of the Brazilian. Real Madrid and their fans were not happy as they felt their attacker was the worthy winner of the award.
Real Madrid called out UEFA and France Football for disrespecting their club and the player. Hence, they boycotted the event and did not post anything about it. Several players of the Los Blancos also took a dig at France Football and UEFA directly and indirectly after the Madrid winger came second in the Ballon d’Or rankings.
Aguero said that Rodri is the justified winner of the award and said that Football is not just for Real Madrid and their players.
Well deserved. Rodri is the best player in the world. Football is for everyone, not just Real Madrid – they are so entitled.

Rodri suffered defeat in just one game out of the 85 games that he played for the club and country last season. His defeat came against Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United side in the FA Cup final.
Vinicius Junior won the LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League while Rodri won the Premier League and the UEFA Euro last season
Vinicius won the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League last season and was instrumental in his side’s success. He scored 24 goals and provided 11 assists in the 39 games that he played for his club, Real Madrid. However, he failed to do it for Brazil in the Copa America and that might have cost him his award.
On the other hand, Rodri was instrumental in Manchester City winning the Premier League and performed incredibly well in the defensive midfield position. Moreover, he was the Player Of The Tournament in the UEFA Euro 2024 as his Spanish side won the trophy by defeating England in the Final and that might have given him the edge.
Rodri suffered an ACL injury in the game against Arsenal and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. On the other hand, Real Madrid are currently second in the La Liga points table and trail by six points to Barcelona after losing the El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu.
