NFL Week 10 gave football fans a lot to talk about. One of those was the change in atmosphere for WR Mike Williams after he caught the game-winning touchdown for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Washington Commanders. Whereas his former team, the New York Jets, had their wind blown out of them after Aaron Rodgers and the offense crumbled.
Rodgers and his favored set of offensive players could not even muster up as many yards as opposing QB, Arizona Cardinals’ Kyler Murray threw against them. It was such a disaster that the team looked lost, and the mood was somber at best. That somber mood also ate into the minds of the defense, as they could not continue their performances from their previous two games.
On the other hand, Williams, whose trade to the Steelers came about after being criticized by his former quarterback, had a completely different game. Considering he was not tuned to their offense, he just came on for one snap. That too because the player he replaced was injured.
Russell Wilson had to instruct him what to do and then proceeded to throw a rainbow, which Williams caught. More importantly, he ran a similar route to the one Rodgers criticized him for. With that in mind, he posted this on his Instagram.
Thankful

He added a few emoticons and hashtags to complement the post. The most important of them was one that said ‘Redline’. That was a shot at Aaron Rodgers after he criticized his now-former teammate for not running the red-line route.
Mike Williams’ touchdown could help Steelers for deep playoff push
After Aaron Rodgers‘ criticism, analysts pointed out that he was wrong in calling out his now-former receiver. As Mike Williams had slipped, not that he ran the wrong route. He could have also adjusted to help net a first down for the New York Jets.

Now, his lone catch helped the Pittsburgh Steelers win on the road against a very good Washington Commanders. That is, despite not knowing the schemes or the tendencies of his new teammates. After he learns the schemes, he could take the load of George Pickens and help Wilson distribute the ball more.
The Steelers offense is already clicking well after Wilson’s resurgence. But the addition of the 30-year-old will help them in red zone offense as well as taking on contested catches. Traits that come handier in heated playoff battles.
It is ironic that the Steelers initially attempted to woo Davante Adams, but he chose friendship. In the aftermath, Williams lost his place in the starting lineup, which eventually moved him to Pittsburgh. Now, he plays for a team likely bound for the playoffs, while his former team has fallen on tough times.
