The name Cam Ward stole all the headlines during the first day of the 2025 NFL draft. The Tennessee Titans drafted the 22-year-old quarterback as the first overall pick of 2025. In the midst of this, former NHL star Cam Ward shared a hilarious reaction to it.

Before Cam Ward of football, there was a Cam Ward in ice hockey. In 2002, the Carolina Hurricanes picked up Ward as the 25th overall pick. The Canadian goaltender went on to make his debut for the team during the 2005-06 season.

In his first season, Ward won the Conn Smythe Trophy, an award given to the MVP of the Stanley Cup playoffs. His performances that season saw the Hurricanes win the Stanley Cup and see him become the first rookie goaltender since Ron Hextall in 1987. After a long spell with the Hurricanes and a one-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks, Ward retired from the NHL in 2019.

On Thursday night, the 41-year-old heard his name being announced on the TV by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. As the Titans picked up the young QB from the Miami Hurricanes, the former Canes goaltender shared a hilarious reaction towards it.
