On Thursday, tempers were high as Team USA and Canada prepared to face each other in the 4 Nations Face-Off final. Before the game, Donald Trump made some comments regarding Canada which was hyped up by P.K. Subban. A former NHLer would later slam Subban for this action on X.
Hours before the big game, Trump had called Team USA and spoke with them in the dressing room. He would give them a pep talk and wished them well for the encounter against Canada later on.
The 47th U.S. President would later take to Truth Social and informed everyone that he had spoken with the team. In his message, Trump once again claimed that Canada will one day become the “51st state” of the United States.
Subban, the Canadian international, would hype up Trump’s comment instead of bashing him. In a tweet on X, the former NHL star supported the words of Trump.
The Trizzy Train (train and smoke emojis) could be coming through soon. Stay tuned!

Former Calgary Flames star Akim Aliu did not appreciate the words of Subban. In a lengthy post on X, the 35-year-old blasted him. He pointed out how despite the platform he only did things to gain popularity.
Instead of using your platform you did everything in your power to gain acceptance and popularity, nothing with you has ever been genuine but transactional and usually for publicity reasons.

He would later claim that due to this behavior, “no one ever liked” him. Aliu finished off his attack on Subban by calling him a “disgrace“.
You are the perfect example of why people of color haven’t progressed at the highest levels of society. From one man to another, you’re a disgrace and history will judge you accordingly.

I’ve watched you from afar and never said anything for two main reasons. 1 being the respect I have for your brothers and parents & 2 I’ve always wanted to keep the in fighting between folks of color to a minimum.

This was something I couldn’t let go –
I’ve known you since I… https://t.co/7pXYVUv89L
Following the tweet from Aliu, several users joined him in taking a swipe at Subban. However, there were some who were against him and sided with the ESPN commentator for his tweet.
P.K. Subban recently took shot at NBA stars for not showing to All-Star game
The NBA All-Star game took place this weekend. Despite the big names, the event failed to draw the type of response they would have hoped for. In a heated rant, P.K. Subban commented on the difference between the money in them and the NHL and took a shot at the NBA stars.

The NHL All-Star game would have taken place this weekend if it weren’t for the 4 Nations Face-Off. The international best-on-best tournament replaced the ASG game this year and saw 4 countries participate on the international stage for the first time since 2016.
While he appreciated that, he took a dig on the NBA. Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar LeBron James was one of the big name who pulled out of the ASG game just a few hours before the event. The veteran claimed that he was still dealing with a discomfort in his ankle and knee.
Subban though was not in the mood to hear all of that day. While appearing at the ESPN’s First Take show, he slammed him for missing the game.
In terms of the money, you’re probably right. There is a lot of money. And I’m sorry, it doesn’t matter how much money you’re making when you do not show up to play. You’re letting your teammates down… When you do not show up to play, you’re letting the fans down. You are an example. You got to show up.

The new format changes saw a decline in the viewership of the NBA All-Star Game this year. As per reports, the game averaged 4.7 million views this year. This was 13 percent less than last year when 5.4 million viewers tuned in to catch the action. This also marked the second-lowest viewership of this event in the last 25 years.
