Real Madrid are under significant pressure this season after losing two matches consecutively. The main reason for this is the lack of goals from the team with Hazard injured and Madrid just dependent on Benzema. Calderon believes it was a mistake to sell Ronaldo without having a replacement for his goals.

Ronaldo was stupidly sold – Calderon

Cristiano is Real Madrid’s top goal scorer but moved to Juventus in a 100 million move two years ago. Calderon believes it was mistake and said, “Since Cristiano was stupidly sold, it was clear that the team needed reinforcements in that position and in others but the sad reality is that the club’s accounts are not only bare but are also full of bills to the tune of around 1,000 million – bills that have to be paid.”

Getting a replacement for Ronaldo has been a huge headache for Madrid with Hazard failing despite arriving with such fanfare. Furthermore, the team have lost consecutive matches and Zidane is under significant pressure to change the situation.

Calderon doesn’t believe sacking Zidane and getting Raul is the solution and said, “I have a great fondness for him and admired him hugely as a player, coach and person, but giving him the job would mean sacking a coach who can make mistakes and surely has made mistakes, but who also won three Champions Leagues on the trot.”
