After Jalen Hurts‘ struggles saw his Philadelphia Eagles struggle against the Los Angeles Chargers, many analysts have started to question the team’s ability to defend their crown.
His four interceptions seemingly undermined a good day for leading wide receiver AJ Brown and superstar running back Saquon Barkley, who had only his second 100+ rushing yard game of this season.
All of those improvements came as head coach Kevin Stefanski seemingly involved himself in the offensive game plan after coordinator Kevin Patullo drew everyone’s ire.
This time, analysts pointed to Jalen Hurts, who felt the quarterback single-handedly cost the Eagles on a night when the defense also played their best ball so far.
I do think it is a precarious situation when you are talking about a quarterback that committed 5 turnovers. We can’t get around that… Jalen Hurts, and that offense didn’t answer the call, and that’s why they lost this game.
Stephen A. Smith said on First Take
This was the longtime analysts’ position, who blamed the Eagles QB and his offense for throwing away what was a superlative performance from their defense.

Smith believes their offensive struggles have been well-documented, but in this game, it shows their ugly side, especially when they start to turn the ball over to add to their miseries.
It seems analysts were back on the ‘blame Jalen Hurts’ bandwagon, as they felt this time there was no hiding the fact that the QB’s 5 turnovers were the sole reason they lost the game.
Chris Canty differs slightly from Stephen A. Smith’s opinion on Jalen Hurts and the Eagles
Former Super Bowl champion Chris Canty agreed with Stephen A. Smith‘s opinion on how Jalen Hurts‘ turnovers undermined the Philadelphia Eagles. But then, he changed the tone of the conversation slightly:

The Philadelphia Eagles are going to win the NFC East. When you look at the remaining schedule, they are gonna cruise to 11 wins.

The former defensive lineman, who often has his fair share of controversial and eyebrow-raising takes, believes the team has the schedule and the team to win enough games and reach the playoffs.

Then, he spoke about the situation they are in, raising concerns about the state of the offense, and whether they can regroup and figure out how to be the team that won Super Bowl LIX.
Super Bowl champion defensive backs believe Jalen Hurts’ Eagles will be unstoppable in playoffs
In the midst of these discussions, one aspect that has stood the test of time is how championship-winning teams figure out how to play better than their capabilities when the postseason comes around.
Even in the games they lose, they still do something good as hell in that game… The guys they got, the weapons they got, their pedigree, whoever they play 1st round of the playoffs, I’m probably gonna pick the Eagles… You just can’t count them out when you look at how they are built.
Aqib Talib said on The Arena
The former Denver Broncos star believes that when the time comes for them to step up, the Philadelphia Eagles will. Talib points to their personnel and their experience to suggest they can do it again.
"You can't count the Eagles out. Even in the games they lose they still do something right."

Even though they had a rough game, the former cornerback reiterated that there were enough positive signs to indicate that the reigning champions have what it takes to repeat.
