UFC Veteran Corey Anderson made his much awaited at Bellator 251 on Thursday Night, and what a debut it was. The American light heavyweight destroyed Dutchman Melvin Manhoef via TKO in only the second round. Looks like Corey will make a bigger impact in the Bellator, than he did in the UFC. “Whoever has that strap, come see me,” Anderson said in his post-match interview, subtly calling out Vadim Nemkov, the current Bellator light heavyweight champion.

Recently, he also gave his opinion on the possible bout between current UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and newly crowned light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. Corey was quite critical of the UFC and condemned them for doing it all “only for the money.”

“It’s not about what makes the most sense” – Corey Anderson

Speaking to MMA Fighting, Corey Anderson was quoted as saying, “You’ve got Santos and Glover Teixeira fighting this weekend, which is No. 1 versus No. 3, which would be a title contention fight in the UFC. But why in the world would you book – the same week that fight is booked, you book Adesanya vs. Blachowicz. Now that means the winner of this fight next weekend just has to wait, or fight someone else, and the way the UFC works, if you decide to wait, they’re going to try and push somebody in front of you that’s willing to fight one of the top guys.

And if you don’t wait, you go out there and fight, you can take the chance of losing, like I did against Jan Blachowicz. That’s just the way the cards fall in the UFC. It’s about what’s going to make them the most money. It’s not about what makes the most sense.”

Corey might be right in a way as the UFC doesn’t seem to be giving importance to Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira. What’s your take on this? Is Corey right in criticizing UFC?
