When Logan Paul debuted in WWE, many fans felt he didn’t belong. However, he quickly earned respect from both wrestlers and fans with his impressive in-ring skills. He also understood the business fast and effortlessly generated heat due to his real-life persona. Former WWE superstar Baron Corbin shared his thoughts on Paul’s career, and they weren’t exactly positive.

While speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, the famed MMA insider asked Baron Corbin if WWE superstars respected Logan Paul in the locker room. Corbin responded that he didn’t like people who received special treatment. He also criticized Paul for getting opportunities over hardworking talent and for always having an entourage around him.

Although Corbin admitted that Paul and his team were nice people, he still found it irritating. The 40-year-old star emphasized his protective stance on the business, believing no one should get opportunities without hard work. Finally, he acknowledged Paul’s efforts but stated they could never be friends.

I just don’t like those guys that get that super special treatment. It’s not like he earned it from working his way up through NXT and getting on TV. I think he’s handed a lot of things that I think there are more deserving talent. I can’t stand people who run around with an entourage. I’ll appreciate what you do, but we’re not gonna be buddies.

WWE released the former United States Champion last November when his contract expired. Meanwhile, ‘The Maverick’ has challenged AJ Styles to appear on the upcoming episode of Raw with his “soccer mom hairstyle.” Given the animosity between them, a WrestleMania match seems likely.

Baron Corbin opened up about what his life has been after his departure

Recently, WWE released several stars by choosing not to renew their contracts. One of them was Baron Corbin, whose final babyface run lacked a distinct personality. ‘The Lone Wolf’ shared what he has been working on since leaving the Stamford-based company.

In the same interview, the 40-year-old star admitted he was caught off guard by his release and felt confused. Corbin said he thrived on having clear goals during his time in WWE, making it difficult to leave that behind. However, Jiu-Jitsu helped fill that void, keeping him focused with constant challenges.

I think it’s a little scary. In WWE, nothing’s set in stone anyway. That steady paycheck, the consistency of traveling and working out and having like a goal in front of you, I had to be in the shape for this and that. So, leaving that, you kind of lose a little bit of that motivation. Jiujitsu has kind of filled that void of giving me constant goals.

WWE legend Randy Orton was shocked upon hearing the news of WWE deciding not to re-sign Baron Corbin

In the same interview, the 40-year-old admitted to having mixed feelings about his departure, as he had somewhat expected it. He believed WWE had found someone to replace him at a lower cost. Corbin also revealed that ‘The Legend Killer’ was among those surprised by his release.

I was a little blindsided by it and also kind of expected it. I think it was hard on a lot of people like, Randy Orton was dead set that I would be a lifer in WWE and you know and when that happened, he was completely shocked because I’ve been a guy who never made waves and never complained about anything.

The former King of the Ring added that he was never one to complain and always gave credit where it was due, even at his own expense. Now making strides in the mixed martial arts world, fans anticipate even greater success for him.
