Several individuals become professional wrestlers after being inspired by previous generations of their family. This phenomenon is quite common in the wrestling industry. It has led to legendary wrestling families like the Anoa’i Dynasty and the Hart family. A current member of the WWE roster, Kevin Owens, was elated to announce his son’s potential entry into the industry.

Owens gave an interview with NHL Now, where he revealed that his 6’8 son recently stepped foot into a wrestling ring for the first time in his life. Further, he claimed that professional wrestling may be a career avenue for his son in the future.

The Prizefighter claimed that it was awesome to see his son do something that he had dedicated his life to. Given that he was in WWE, he had the opportunity to bring his son to the best possible place to start training, the WWE Performance Centre. He was happy to see his son have an interest in professional wrestling and give it a shot.

The formerly known Kevin Steen was already a huge name on the indie wrestling scene prior to his WWE debut. However, he still spent a lot of time honing his skills in the WWE Performance Centre throughout 2014 during his time in NXT Black & Gold.

This interview took place when Kevin Owens and his son both attended Game 7 of the NHL Stanley Cup between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers. The father and son, being Canadian, share a common hobby of hockey, apart from their love of professional wrestling.

The former Universal Champion has feuded with The Bloodline for nearly three months. Although severely outnumbered at first, he was eventually joined by his ‘new friend‘ Randy Orton. While they fought the faction at Backlash France, they were once again outnumbered after the debut of Tonga Loa.

Cody Rhodes has now joined their faction after The Bloodline targeted him after his match at Clash at the Castle against AJ Styles. This feud will likely lead to a singles match between The American Nightmare and Solo Sikoa. WWE is reportedly planning for this match to be the main event of SummerSlam 2024.
