F1
Elon Musk the owner of companies like Tesla and SpaceX has recently made an astonishing claim that Tesla’s new SUV the Plaid Model S can go from 0-60 mph faster than a Formula1 race car. In June 2021, Elon said that it takes a Formula1 car 2.6 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, and recently he has highlighted that previous claim while replying to a Tweet of the Tesla Silicon Valley club.
The Tesla CEO, Elon Musk via Twitter has confirmed that Tesla’s Plaid Model S is faster than a Formula1 car in racing from 0 to 60 mph when it comes to a standing start. According to him, Formula1 cars are not able to unleash their full potential during a standing start as he believes most of the Formula1 car’s speed comes from aerodynamics[which works better the quicker the car is going].
As per Tesla, the Plaid Model S is believed to be the highest performing electric sedan ever built. It has the longest range and has the quickest acceleration of any electric vehicle in production.
Fans have had their say on Elon Musk’s statement
Tesla may have the upper hand over Formula1 when it comes to a standing start, but the Formula1 fans have not taken to Elon Musk’s statement very kindly and have made their opinions very clear regarding the matter.
Some of the Formula1 fans have roasted the Tesla CEO and one fan named Dan Burkland while replying to Elon’s tweet wrote, “Until that first corner comes up :]”
There were many people like Dan who were not pleased with Elon’s statement and went on a roasting spree, criticizing the Tesla Plaid S.
It was not all bad when it came to Elon Musk’s tweet as many people backed Elon and Tesla as people went at each other in the comments. There were people who backed Elon and one guy named alonsoWDC2022 wrote “Who tf asked if they can slow down or take corners faster? Elon is just trying to sell his SUV but you nerds gotta take it personally.”
