Eight-race weekends partnership agreed between W Series and F1 for the second year in a row.

W Series race in action
W Series, which started as an all-women championship in 2019, has confirmed its calendar for the third season, which will run alongside Formula 1 on eight weekends. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
F1’s Managing Director, Ross Brawn, and W Series CEO, Catherine Bond Muir, made statements of confirmation and expressed their views on the latest partnership between the two motorsport championships.
While Formula 1 will start its 2022 season in Bahrain on 18th March, W Series will join F1 on the debut-making circuit in Miami on 6th May.
W Series will be racing on three continents this year and will be making its debut in Asia in Japan on 7th October.
The championship will have four races in Europe in Spain, the United Kingdom, France, and Hungary. And it will end with two races in North America, with the penultimate race in Austin, USA, and the finale in Mexico.

Giving everyone an equal opportunity and increasing the diversity

“We believe that it is extremely important to give everyone the opportunity to reach the highest levels of our sport, and our partnership with W Series continues to demonstrate our resolve in building greater diversity across Formula 1,” said Ross Brawn.
This partnership seems to be favoring both the involved parties, as evident from the statements of their executives.
Catherine Bond Muir, CEO of W Series, said: “Last year, we began a landmark partnership with Formula 1 and our talented grid of female racing drivers proved that they belong on motor racing’s greatest stage.
“I would like to thank Formula 1 for their continued support and commitment to creating more opportunities for girls and women in the highest categories of our sport.”
Missing the champion of the sport in 2022

Jamie Chadwick, the winner of both the seasons held so far and a development driver of the Williams Formula 1 team, has suggested that she might not return to compete this season. This comes out in the light of her decision to focus on growing in racing and competing in other racing categories.
