F1 Pre Season Testing: Sergio Perez brings out first red flag in Barcelona owing to gearbox issues
The second day of the first Pre-season testing of the 2022 Formula 1 season is underway at Barcelona. All teams and personnel will be keeping a close eye on the laps of their drivers and rivals alike. And the second day did bring out some drama!
Mclaren’s Daniel Ricciardo set the fastest pace of the day. The Aussie powered his car through in 1:20:355 Minutes on his Pirelli C3 tyres. This comes after teammate Lando Norris topped the charts on the opening day of the pre-season test with the same compounds.
Before Ricciardo’s blazing lap, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez bought out the first Red Flag of the testing and the season after the Mexican battled gearbox issues with his car stranded in the middle of the circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Perez only being to complete 38 laps which is way less than 147 Max Verstappen completed across two sessions on Wednesday.
