“I think we should all hope and pray for Ukraine,” Mick Schumacher after F1 decides to oust Russian GP

The Russian war has sent the whole world into a state of shock and F1 team Haas and its driver Mick Schumacher have been caught in the middle of it all. Haas was sponsored by a Russian sponsor, Uralkali and has a Russian driver, Nikita Mazepin. Haas has taken a stern step against Russia’s decision to declare war against Ukraine by ripping off Uralkali’s sponsorship which has in turn created a sense of uncertainty regarding Mazepin’s future.

But more importantly, there are innocent people who are dying in Ukraine which is a direct result of the aggression by Russia and its troops. This is the time for the society and the F1 community to come together and do everything in our capacity to bring about a change and fight it out.

All the teams and drivers hold an influential place in the society which can be used to used to bring about a change. Like Haas, drivers have also come out and protested against the war. Earlier, Sebastian Vettel expressed his intentions of not racing in the Russian Grand Prix, had it been conducted.

Now, Mick Schumacher has come out and been vocal about his opinion against the war in Ukraine. He has also people to pray for the people living in Ukraine and also on the battlefield. He has resonated with his team’s opinion.

Mick Schumacher said, “Obviously, I think we all heard the horrible news that the war had started and I think that is something which affects us all. It is something which makes me personally really sad to see.

“In terms of the effect on the team, I am not the right person to answer that question but I think we should all hope and pray for Ukraine.”

This time has been taxing for the drivers and also been draining as far as their mental headspace goes. War can more often than not leave a negative mark on your mental health.

Mick Schumacher on this issue said, “I guess that the easiest way of answering this would be to say I’m just trying to constantly focus on what we have to do, on the work.” As reported by gpfans.

This is just not Russia’s war against Ukraine. This should every free citizen’s war against Russia and we should do everything to bring about a change in the current situation which could in turn bring relief to Ukraine and its people.
