The Uralkali Haas F1 Team became the first team to reveal its 2022 season race car. The American F1 team unveiled the digital renderings and images of the VF22 from their newly setup design office in Maranello, Italy.
Haas F1 will be taking part in their 7th season since joining Formula one in 2016. Nikita Mazepin and 2020 Formula 2 Championship winner Mick Schumacher, will be resuming their roles for the team again for the second year.
Regarding the launch, Team owner Gene Haas said “It’s that time of year where you’re naturally optimistic that the hard work and effort of everyone will translate to a competitive entry on track,” regarding the challenges faced by the team.
“Foregoing anything track-related for 2021 – which wasn’t easy to watch. Hopefully that decision bears fruit and we return to challenging for points and taking something from the weekend,” he added.

The most complex project the Uralkali Haas F1 Team
With new regulations kicking in and a fresh set of tyres to race off with, Haas F1 became the first team to set foot on the 2022 championship stage. The American team unveiled the images of their striking white car with red and blue livery at their newly inaugurated design office in Maranello. The design is close to the 2021 car which seemed to be inspired by the Russian Flag after having received financial backing from title sponsor Uralkali owned by Russian businessman Dmitry Mazepin.
Team Principal Guenther Steiner added: “We all know what the team is capable of, we’ve proved that in the past, and with this new car – born out of a completely new set of regulations and with our new design team in place – I’m confident we can showcase once again that we can compete on weekends.”
The Austrian further said, “It’s been a tremendous effort by everyone involved and now comes the fun part of getting the new car to the circuit and dialling in all the elements. Last season was a long one but I’m confident that 2022 will see us back in the mix with the VF-22.”
Technical Director Simone Resta said, “This is probably the most complex project the Uralkali Haas F1 Team has dealt with to-date for many reasons. It’s a completely new set of regulations and this season we’ve brought in a new team to manage the creation of the VF-22. We’re still early in the project and going through a transitional season of working together on a car for a full year, but if we look back where we started, this team is already a success.”
The team opted to release digital images of the car to prevent new designs and innovations from be revealed too soon. The team were the only team not to score a point and finished last in the constructors championship.
After a poor show in 2020, Haas opted to focus for the 2022 and not develop their 2021 car, as a fresh start when the new regulations kick in. VF22 has been a car with a lot of hopes for Haas and it shall be proved in the Pre-season testing in Barcelona.
