Ferrari aim for a fighting chance ahead of 2022 season
Ferrari is hopeful ahead of the 2022 season. After a dismal performance in 2020, the team slipped to 7th in the standings marking their worst performance in 40 years in F1. But in 2021, after consistent performances and a few podiums, the team bagged 3rd in the Constructors championship, pipping McLaren in the last race.
“This is an important day for us as we launch our car, the Ferrari F1-75. I must admit that personally, I’m excited about it, as this car is a product of the effort, dedication and passion of each one of us. It’s down to the work of a group of people who have invested everything in this car, working with courage, creativity and team spirit,” said Team Principal Mattia Binotto during the car launch.
Ferrari have retained Sainz and Leclerc. The Italians have not won the F1 championship since 2007 under Kimi Raikonnen and haven’t won a race since the 2019 Singapore GP win by Sebastian Vettel. The team will be hoping the fiesty looking car will give them a chance to regain their spot in the top step of the podium.
