The 2021 season was dramatic, chaotic and controversial which saw the top teams of formula 1 fighting each other for the ultimate glory, but Red Bull and Mercedes was too good performing for the rest of the pack to catch up to which saw the rivals’ sharing drivers and constructer’s  championship  respectively.

Team Aston Martin had a season to forget after they finished P7 in constructers championship. Aston Martin’s cars was driven by the pair of Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll who were only able to secure a total 77 points for the team. Aston Martin failed capitalize on a complete overhaul of their team and introduction of 4 times world champion Sebastian Vettal couldn’t produce any great performance for the team. The performance of the car and individual errors was the Saul reason for their downfall.

Following the below par season Aston Martin F1 team principal Otmar Szafnauer has departed from Aston martin after his 12 year long service during the period where the team went through multiple rebranding as Force India ,and racing point before becoming Aston Martin. Aston Martin  were able to finish in P5 and P4 in the constructor’s championship on successive occasions between 2015 and 2017 under Otmar Szafnauer, he also played an important role in securing a power unit contract between them and Mercedes.

Otmar Szafnauer  as reports from L’auto-Journal seem to confirm Szafnauers’s new role within the Alpine F1 team. The report suggests that Otmar Szafnauer and Laurent Rossi, CEO of Alpine, engaged in negotiations and decided up on naming him  Alpine team principal reporting to the CEO and overseeing the current management team

This development happens after, Alpine’s racing director Davide Brivio  moved to F1 after working 30 years in motorcycle racing which include World Superbikes and MotoGP reportedly considering a move back to MotoGP as he isn’t adjusting with Formula 1.

Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll  duo going to drive for the UK based for 2022 season and the veteran Sebastian Vettel is in pressure to perform at the level he is expected to be after the disappointing Aston Martin debut season.

Alpine Renault finished 5th in 2021  drivers’ championship with their duo of 2 times world champion Ferando Alonso and Esteban Ocon continuing to 2022 season. The team is expected to take the 2021 momentum forward and give a proper challenge in 2022 with new regulations going to be implemented. Veteran Fernando Alonso will hope to carry his regained charm or “El Plan” and the young Frenchman  Esteban Ocon will want to fight more GP titles and podium finishes.
