“Suck my balls,” Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg finally settle their infamous feud back in 2017

Kevin Magnussen enjoyed a memorable welcome back in Formula One after a one-year hiatus. The Dane joined the Haas F1 team replacing Nikita Mazepin. And in his first race itself, he secured a P5 finish securing the first set of points for a team in more than a year.
But Magnussen wasn’t the only returnee on the F1 Paddock during the Bahrain GP weekend. Aston Martin called Nico Hulkenberg, who stepped in for Sebastian Vettel after the 4-time World Champion was ruled out after a Covid positive test.
Both the drivers reportedly had a rift between them post the 2017 Hungarian GP. Hulkenberg tapped his shoulder mid-interview and said, “Once again the most unsporting driver on the grid.” To which Magnussen instantly replied, “Suck my balls, honey,” and carried on with the interview as Hulkenberg went away.

“I thought it was about time” Nico Hulkenberg on famous incident with Kevin Magnussen

During the Magnussen 2017 Hungarian GP, Keving Magnussen forced Nico Hulkenberg’s Renault off the road. The Haas driver was subsequently given a penalty for the move. The two confronted in the post-race interview which became a talking point for the rest of the season. But during the Bahrain GP, the two reunited in the pre-race parade and sorted the differences and moved on.
Hulkenberg said, “It’s not like I dislike Kevin but after that happened in Budapest we haven’t really spoken a word since. Even before that, we’ve never really spoken to each other. I thought it was about time. Because I don’t dislike him, I just thought that incident on the track was a little bit harsh. As racing drivers, you do tend to disagree every now and then. But I thought it was quite funny to greet him with the ‘Suck my balls, honey.’ He quite liked it!”
Magnussen confirmed “I mean, it’s not something that’s been bothering me too much. But yeah, it’s always nice. I mean, we never spoke about that thing. The funny thing is, with Nico it’s not the only thing that I’ve tried which was kind of like this. You see the media build up some tension between us, like me and Romain, or me and Nico. And actually, there’s a lot of respect there in reality.”
The two drivers confirmed that they hadn’t contacted each other since the incident 5 years ago. But the two have buried the bad blood and are over their differences. Both drivers will be focusing on the next race in Saudi Arabia as Hulkenberg will still be replacing Sebastian Vettel as Vettel hasn’t received a negative result yet.
