Helmut Marko the Red Bull team adviser has recently shed light on the fascinating situation they have with Pierre Gasly in the Red Bull’s driver options.
Helmut Marko was recently stressed about the prospect of Gasly returning to the Red Bull main team and Marko said, “If this contract expires (2023) and we can’t offer him any chance of promotion, we will most likely lose him. We don’t want that.”
If Helmut’s comments are anything to go by, it seems Red Bull does not want to lose Pierre Gasly but has also made amends with the fact that if Red Bull fails to offer Gasly a seat for 2023, then they will most likely lose the young Frenchmen.
Ever since Pierre’s painful demotion from the Red Bull senior team his stock as a Formula One driver has increased 10 folds and now he is considered one of the most exciting prospects on the F1 grid.
Pierre had a phenomenal 2021 season for the AlphaTauri team where he scored over 100 points and kept them in the race for fifth in the constructor’s championship for the most part of the 2021 season.
Pierre was able to carry the AlphaTauri team almost single-handedly during the 2021 season.
Pierre Gasly has to do another “brilliant” season to impress Helmut Marko and Co.
Pierre had a breakout season last year where he made everyone known regarding his capabilities as a Formula One driver and since then he has garnered a lot of interest in him from various other teams on the grid.
Pierre has previously many a time admitted that his current goal in Formula One is to get the coveted seat at Red Bull which he lost in a painful fashion to Alex Albon in 2019.
Helmut knows what Pierre wants and if the Frenchman is able to put in another season like last year for AlphaTauri then the pressure on the Red Bull hierarchy is going to be “immense” and if they fail in doing what Pierre expects from them, then Pierre is most likeliness will leave the Red Bull family in order to get opportunities at other top teams.
