No fan predicted it wrong as the most glorified modern-day rivalry between Lewis Hamilton vs Max Verstappen ended in the most controversial way possible. With Hamilton and Mercedes looking to seize the victory in easy manner, a miracle fell in favor of the Dutchman as he won his hard-fought world championship in 2021, but the race fans have been discussing the incident in the last stages of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The safety car entered the pits with one lap to go. The stewards decided to let the cars between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton unlap themselves, but other cars were not allowed.
Controversy erupts in Abu Dhabi GP Finale
On one hand, where Lewis Hamilton and the Mercedes camp was dejected even after winning the Constructor’s Championship, Red Bull were absolutely over the moon with their ace driver Max Verstappen lunging in the latter half of the final lap to seize the victory.
