With four out of six possible podiums in the first two races of the 2022 season, Ferrari has presented itself as the team to beat. Before the season started, the Maranello-based outfit had spectacular pre-season testings and had warned the grid that they are here to win this season.

Ferrari’s boss, Mattia Binotto, has now sent out a warning to all the drivers and teams on the grid. The boss has presented Charles Leclerc as the challenger for the title. Leclerc, in the opening two races, has finished P1 and P2 and stands on top of the drivers’ championship table with 45 points.

Mattia Binotti, speaking of Charles Leclerc as the challenger to Max Verstappen‘s defense, said, “Charles is ready to fight for the title, but we have known that ever since we renewed his contract. He is fast, intelligent, and I’m very happy with the way he is driving.”

The season has only begun and seems to have heated up since the first race in Bahrain. We are witnessing the beginning of a new era in F1, and along with it, we’ve seen changes in the grid’s hierarchy. And this shift in the hierarchy didn’t only come on the driver’s list but also on the team’s.

Ferrari and Charles Leclerc have gotten off to a great start in the season. The driver looks confident and has engaged in intense battles with the reigning champion Max Verstappen in both races. He has partnered well with the Spanish driver Carlos Sainz, to whom he lost the battle for P5 in the 2021 drivers’ standings.

Charles Leclerc got a massive contract at Ferrari when he joined the team in 2019, after spending his first year in F1 at Sauber. And after waiting patiently for the car’s development, he’s reaping the fruit as the team has been impressed with their 2022 car, F1-75.
