Ferrari’s F1-75 spotted on the tracks!
Scuderia Ferrari's new car for the 2022 season-the magnificent F1-75
The much-awaited F1-75 was launched on February 17 in a formal event after facing the unfortunate circumstances of having photos of the car leaked a day before the launch date itself.
Binotto led Scuderia Ferrari has always been one to customize their cars best by all the new regulations that have been implemented. Ferrari is not looking to settle for less this season, hoping to go back to winning ways with the F1-75 challenger. The F1-75 possesses darker hues as a form of respect to the very first F1 challenger that competed in their first season in the championship.
“We have tackled the challenge of this project with an innovative approach. Because apart from the requirements of the completely new technical regulations we believe that we had to take on this exercise with an open mind. Trouble in aerodynamics paradise?
The primary aerodynamic difficulty in this section of the car is still figuring out how to maximize the speed of airflow into the floor and down the sides, and what the optimal trade-off is between those two flows.
The strength with which the airflow is drawn into the venturi inlets is determined by the accuracy of the venturi tunnel shape in lowering the underneath air pressure (and so raising the downforce). As a result, the size and shape of those inlets are critical. The cooling system must be designed to meet that aerodynamic criterion.
What are Leclerc and Sainz’s thoughts about the F1-75?
The F1-75 which has already captivated the hearts of the Tifosi was warmly welcomed by drivers Charles LeClerc and Carlos Sainz. LeClerc has been driving for Scuderia Ferrari since 2019 while the approaching Formula One season will be Sainz’s second season with the Italian-based racing team.
“I think it looks aggressive, it looks radical, and I think it looks beautiful also… I just hope it’s fast,” said Sainz. “It’s innovative, different, thinking a bit out of the box. I like it because it’s just radical, which is what you want to see when you see a new car.”
Carlos’ fellow teammate Charles LeClerc was equally pleased with the F1-75 challenger: “Yes, I do [like the livery]. I think it fits perfectly. It’s a bit of a dark red, looks a bit more aggressive but for a car like this, I think it fits perfectly. We have the 75th-anniversary logo which I think fits well with the color scheme, we are trying to represent the old days of Ferrari, you know, and I think this color is a mix of what we had last year at the front, with what we had at the back,”
Pre-testing season starts on February 23 in Barcelona where Ferrari drivers Sainz and LeClerc will drive the car ahead of the commencement of the 2022 season.
