The 2022 season of Formula one which will be hosting a record 23 Grand Prix will begin on 28 March in Bahrain, which is among the 3 Middle Eastern nations that host F1 races the other 2 being Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi. Circuits from all around the world want to host an F1 race and only a few countries have gotten the chance to do so. The 2022 season will host the inaugural Miami GP, the newest addition to the F1 calendar.
Formula One has announced that the Bahrain Grand Prix will remain on the calendar until 2036 making it the longest contract extension after Liberty Media took over F1. The race has been ever-present on the calendar since then with its only cancellation coming in 2011 amid civil unrest in the country.
