Sergio Perez
Sergio Perez found himself at the crossroads at the end of the 2020 Formula One season. Racing Point was set to be bought by Aston Martin with his seat being swapped by Sebastian Vettel. In September it was announced that the 4-time World Champion had been signed by Aston Martin for the 2021 season onwards which left Checo without a drive for the 2021 season.
But having won the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, after fighting his way through the entire field, Red Bull offered him a seat for the 2021 season and what a decision it was. The Mexican has been instrumental in Max Verstappen’s maiden World Championship title win.
The 32-year-old had put in some of the finest defensive driving performances and has been a fan favourite. He finished the season in a career-best 4th place in the drivers standing for the 2021 season and is due to stay at Red Bull for the 2022 season.

“I don’t see myself staying in the sport for that long, but I’m still very motivated at the moment. I never had the opportunity to drive for a top team before and I’m only 32. I still have my best years ahead of me and if I stay motivated, I will keep going,” said the Mexican driver.
Red Bull recently launched their 2022 Formula 1 car with, the RB18 on February 9th. They also announced a new title partnership with Oracle, with the American cloud company becoming title sponsor. This is also the first car Red Bull have created since engine partner Honda left the sport and will be running Red Bull Powertrains.
