Ferrari just launched their bold F1-75 yesterday with team boss Mattio Binotto alongside the duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. Ferrari has had their stand clear in terms of whether Michael Masi should be given the sending off or not.
The Italian giants have always been in favor of sacking Michael Masi which, according to them, will be instrumental for the sport in the longer run and they stuck to their statements even after the decision was taken by the FIA.
The dynamic duo of Carlos Sainz Jr. and Charles Leclerc was also asked for their take on the situation post the unveiling of the bold F1-75. In response to that, both drivers seemed to kept fairly quiet about developments in Michael Masi’s story.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. sing the same tune as Ferrari, as they completely concur with decision of sending Michael Masi away
Both the drivers seemed to have taken the more sophisticated view in wriggling out of the situation in style but they agreed with Mattio Binotto and eventually made their intentions as plain as a pikestaff.
Leclerc said, “I have a lot of respect for Michael and for what he has done. It’s an incredibly difficult track. Whatever Masi had decided in Abu Dhabi, it would always have been controversial. I trust that the FIA has made the right decision. They have much more info than I do.”
In addition to that Carlos Sainz Jr. also expressed his intentions when he said, “I wish Michael the best. He has done a lot for Formula 1. The new race directors will have a tough job, but I like the first ideas of the FIA. I hope it will make our sport better and brighter. That’s good for the fans and the teams,” As reported by gpblog.
Michael Masi will be replaced Niel Wittich and Eduardo Freitas in the upcoming season. Masi will have the option of whether he wants to stay within the FIA but it shall solely be his prerogative whether he wishes to continue to do that and it’ll be understandable if he doesn’t. One thing is clear from the current situation and that is his successors won’t have it easy. So, they better be ready.
