The Williams team has launched their car FW44. FW, in the name, stands for the founder of Williams, Sir Frank Williams. The car is based on the new regulations that have been introduced to F1, starting from the 2022 season.

During the launch event, which was streamed on the team’s website and YouTube channel, both the drivers, Nicholas Latifi and Alex Albon, were present alongside the team’s principal and CEO, Jost Capito. Nicholas Latifi, when asked to describe the car in a single word, said that it looks “fresh,” while Alex Albon frankly said, “blue.”

Nicholas Latifi is returning for a third season with the Williams team. The Williams boss on the driver’s return said, “Nikki [Nicholas Latifi] is with us already two years, and he deserved the place for the third year definitely, and yeah he showed really great performance especially to end of last year when he really got into the rhythm.”

Capito, while complimenting the new Williams driver and returning to the sport driver, Alex Albon, said, “Alex has podiums on his belt a lot of experience, and I think from his character and from his fighting attitude he perfectly fits the team.”

Canadian driver, Nicholas Latifi, said, “I think it looks great and fresh. The blue has been associated with Williams for many years, so I think it’s important that that has stayed, and the new flashes of red and a little bit of electric blue, I think it looks great.”

While the new signing, Albon said, “As the guys here said, it’s ‘clean’ and the car looks cool. It looks like a fast racing car. We don’t have many days before our first race and so we quickly need to understand which areas of the car are strong and where we need to make improvements. We spent a lot of days in the simulator. We think we have a good idea of how the car is going to feel.”

The drivers and the boss feel optimistic and will be looking to get themselves up in the grid. The FW44 can be the chance for the team to use the experience and gain an upper hand early in the season.
