Formula One fans are all set to witness an exciting battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen this season. The duo are not only battling fiercely on the race tracks, but have also started a war of words between them.

Lewis Hamilton finished seventh at the Monaco GP on Sunday, and fell to the second place in the championship battle. Max Verstappen claimed his second win of the season, and moved four points clear of Hamilton in the championship. After the race, Verstappen took a dig at Hamilton and stated that he likes to do the talking on the track.

Well, first of all, actions always speak louder than words. That’s a good lesson after this weekend. You only have to talk on the track. That’s what I like,” said Verstappen.

“We as a team so far made the smallest mistakes. That’s why we are ahead. So, I hope we can keep that going for the rest of the season,” he added.

Lewis Hamilton did not seem to bother about Max Verstappen’s comment and dismissed it on the first occasion itself. “I couldn’t care less,” responding to Verstappen’s dig. “They (Red Bull) did a great job this weekend and that’s that,” he added.

Lewis Hamilton stated that there is a long way to go this season, and there are 17 races left. He added that Mercedes have had several good weekends before, and it is childish to go into a war of words.

We’ve had some good races also. There are 17 races to go. I’m not going to [say more]. Max Verstappen asserted that Red Bull are still the team to beat on normal tracks, and stated that Monaco GP was overall a smooth weekend.

If it’s there at the end of the season that would be great because it’s still a long way to go. Of course it’s great to bounce back after the last two races where of course the gap got bigger,” said the Dutch driver.

We still have to work hard because we know that Mercedes on normal tracks are still the ones to beat. But it was a good, smooth weekend overall I think. And this is a great boost for the whole team going forward,” he added.
