Mattia Binotto opined that Mick Schumacher’s progress during the latter half of the season was indeed impressive. The Ferrari team principal added that Haas did not develop their car, but Mick was catching on to the drivers ahead of him.

If I look at the last races he was a lot closer to the cars ahead while Haas didn’t really develop the car at all,” said Binotto.

Mattia Binotto added that Antonio Giovinazzi would have a full programme of simulator work, hinting at a potential return to the grid in 2023. The Italian driver secured a seat for himself in Formula E for next year.

There are I think 11 seats which will be free in 2023… 11 have contracts finishing at the end of 2022. So it is important for him as a driver to still be part of our F1 programme,” Binotto added.
