The Saudi Arabia Grand Prix Qualifying as always was filled with drama. The session witnessed two red flags with the second leading Mick Schumacher to the hospital. The high-speed accident during one of the laps led by Schumacher stopped the qualifying for almost one hour.
Mick Schumacher was challenging for a slot in Q3 during the second session of the qualifying. While he was on a good pace, the car touched the kerb at turn 12, due to which he lost control of the rear of the car as a result of the kerb bounce near the end of the first sector, smashing it straight into the concrete wall and damaging the whole car within seconds.

Since Schumacher was conscious when he exited the car, an initial medical examination indicated that he had escaped serious injury in the collision.
However, for precautionary check-ups, a quick decision was taken to transfer the driver to a nearby hospital with the help of a helicopter where further testing will take place. After some time, the Hass Team confirmed that the young lad was in the good physical condition and had spoken with his family as well.
FIA had also released a statement regarding the same, stating that: “Assessment at the Medical Centre revealed no injuries, and he has been transferred to King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital, Jeddah, for precautionary checks.”
Condition of Mick Schumacher’s Haas Car
The session was stopped for 57 minutes before the FIA was able to resume it due to marshals needing to clear the track for Q2. Whereas, the 2022 challenger was severely damaged in the collision, with all four corners being damaged. As the car was being lifted away by marshals, the gearbox detached from the VF-21, spilling oil all over the track.
