Valtteri Bottas
The Finnish driver and Alfa Romeo‘s new pick for their seat, Valtteri Bottas, speaks on the difference that he feels at Alfa Romeo when compared with his ex-team Mercedes. The driver has moved from the Silver Arrows to Alfa Romeo in 2021 after driving for the former for five seasons.
For any driver, a shift from Mercedes to Alfa Romeo would be huge. One of them possesses a staff of over 1500, while the other manages to work with a relatively small workforce. And Valtteri Bottas has certainly felt this, as he believes there’s a difference in the ‘vibe’ of both the places.
This, however, doesn’t affect Bottas as he thinks the vibe and the lesser size of his current team isn’t a bad thing. He says, as quoted by GP Fans, “First of all, the size of the team, it’s quite a bit smaller but that’s not necessarily a bad thing and so far I have been enjoying it.”
How is Valtteri Bottas adapting with the team?

The driver has moved teams before and surely knows how to adapt and be a team player. His experience is crucial for the team as well as the rookie driver and his teammate Guanyu Zhou. So far, according to the team principal, the chemistry between the duo has been good.
Valtteri, on the differences and adapting to the new team, said, “There are so many new people and new things to get used to and learn. I would say I’m still in the adaptation phase of getting to know the team properly and how everything works. It’s part of the learning but I would say it has been a pretty quick process of getting used to it.”
After unforgettable testing in Barcelona, when the team could only manage to put in 175 laps over three days and the Finnish could only manage 55 out of those, Bottas agrees to have missed more of the track time. He said, “Good vibes. I have been really enjoying it and with a bit more track time, I would be even happier but at least it has been fun.”
It’ll be exciting to see how quickly the team gathers themselves and puts in a car for the Bahrain testing. And what’s gonna be more exciting is how the new duo of Bottas and Zhou will work for the team.
