Wholesome gesture by Red Bull as new F1 2022 challenger shows ‘Honda’ as part of the team

After a lot of anticipation from the fans, the Red Bull F1 team has finally revealed their RB18 car, as the 2022 season is bringing in new regulations in F1. Red Bull will be looking forward to defending Max Verstappen’s WDC title and making a move for the Constructors’ championship.

However, during the reveal, only a few people noticed a certain branding on the new livery. It’s the livery of Honda Racing, branded as “HRC” on the car. It is present on the engine cover under the driver’s number.

It’s a wholesome gesture from Red Bull, given that the Japanese automaker has formally exited the sport at the end of the 2021 season.

Although Honda has exited the sport, they continue to maintain and supply the engine for Red Bull. The “HRC” branding has pleased F1’s Japanese fans, who have shared their gratitude for Red Bull’s gesture.

Sergio Perez believes the new cars will enable closer racing as the new regulations are enforced. While, Max commented, “I haven’t really driven it too much. With these big tires to hit an apex in some tight corners is a bit more difficult. Driving feels like a bit less grip, but you will get used to that.”

Red Bull has announced Oracle as the new title sponsor. Oracle will help the team develop their engine post engine freeze in 2026. The team’s new car looks sharp and was unveiled massively with 300K people watching on YouTube alone.
