With the consistency of the game’s usual three-month seasons, season 6’s battle pass will end on June 7, 2021.
And while Season 6 has just begun and has a while to run yet, fans and the gaming community never fail to look forward and get excited about what comes next, namely in Chapter 2: Season 7. A new season means map changes, a new battle pass, and much more alongside. We take a look at Fortnite Season 7: Chapter 2 leaks including when it will be released.
Fortnite Season 7: Upcoming Leaks
Since some seasons in Fortnite are long and some short, new Fortnite seasons don’t have a fixed end date, but usually, they run for around 3 months, and based on the Season 6 start date of 16th March, it can be said that Chapter 7 might be released on or around the 8th June. Of course, players should always expect potential delays.
Most Fortnite updates launch very early in the morning relative to the Eastern time zone, often around 4 a.m. Eastern. For many players, that means it’ll be available early in the morning.
Fortnite Season 7 Skins:
It appears that skins set to appear in the upcoming Season 7 of Fortnite have been accidentally leaked online. Fans don’t usually get a proper glimpse at the new skins until the new season starts, but it appears Apple may have jumped the gun and released them early, according to Fortnite Intel. Eagle-eyed Fortnite fan FortTory on Twitter was sent an image of the new skins allegedly taken from Apple’s App Store, announcing the launch of Season 7, which is set to take place on Thursday, December 6.
Although there’s not much known about Season 7’s crossovers yet, the summer release opens a lot of doors. Since Fortnite tends to sync up with major tentpole Hollywood movies for crossovers. Considering that Disney just released new summer release dates for Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, it wouldn’t be surprising to see even more Marvel skins in the game.
Fortnite Season 7 Map Changes:
The Fortnite Season 7 map has brought a number of changes and updates both big and small. Snow now covers the southwestern portion of the map and many named locations have drastically changed. The largest and most obvious change is the giant chunk of land now covered in snow. Gone are Flush Factory and Greasy Grove and in are Polar Peak, Frosty Flights, and Happy Hamlet.
The entire southwestern portion of the new Fortnite Season 7 map, lining up with the river and going all the way north to Tilted Towers, is now covered in ice and snow. In addition, the snowstorm seen in the distance during Season 6 has brought a new landmass, extending the map past Flush Factory.
Fortnite Season 7 Storyline:
This season’s grand finale ends with a dramatic sci-fi set-piece where players have to “seal off the Zero Point,” which is more or less the center of the universe in Fortnite. The catch is that doing so will trap the characters in The Loop. That term is used to describe the time loop that people on the island find themselves stuck in. The Foundation (a mysterious new character) tells players that they’ll need to find a way to escape, information via Inverse.
That sets a pretty clear stage for Season 7. It’s likely that players will need to find their way out of the Loop and reunite with The Foundation. There’s clearly more to this character’s backstory and we can only imagine it’ll get fleshed out more this summer.
While there is not much information about what gamers should expect in June from Fortnite season 7, other than going off past precedents as there have been no significant leaks other than these, season 7 will undoubtedly change what weapons are available to players and thrill players with significant changes in map and storyline.
