In the sporting world, athletes usually tend to give back. In the form of recognition or money, athletes make sure to help whatever fueled them to become athletes. Recently, American sensation Frances Tiafoe donated a huge sum to support a budding tennis center in his hometown.

This week, the American was back home in the college park, MD. He was not back for a vacation, but to present a 50,000-dollar check. Last year, Tiafoe started the Frances Tiafoe Fund through the USTA Foundation to assist tennis and education programs for under-programming for under-resourced youth through the National Junior and Tennis learning programs.

Since childhood, the American had trained in the center, and from there he made his way to the main stage of tennis. Once, had made a foundation, he donated a huge sum to help the center as a whole.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of everyone at JTCC,” Tiafoe said in a statement. “It means a lot to me to be able to pay it forward and help the next generation of kids have access to the same opportunities as I did.

This is the inaugural grant towards Tiafoe’s hometown center, and what better time to present it than on their 25th anniversary? The center has been on for over 25 years, and it is their first grant. A huge moment for Tiafoe and his hometown.

American pro-Frances Tiafoe has been a plus point for the sport as he has done wonders over the years. Not only in tennis but as a black American outside. He set up a foundation and helped many of his color as well as the ones in need.

Tiafoe grew up in the NJTL network where his dad used to work at. Getting into the center via his dad, Tiafoe soon started training for the sport. From the many other players, the American made it to the junior circuit before breaking into the main draw.

He revealed that he wouldn’t be anywhere else than to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his tennis center, where he presented the grant. On court, Tiafoe has had a rather quiet season so far. After a disappointing run at the Australian Open, the American failed to make it count in other tournaments as well.

However, he gained form when the circuit moved towards the USA, and reached the finals of a couple of tournaments. Even at the Indian Wells and the Miami Open, Tiafoe failed to make it count. He would hope to improve as the tour heads onto the clay courts.
