Frances Tiafoe is not a ‘Swiftie’, the zealous fans of American pop singer Taylor Swift. But the American tennis ace too was left starstruck after meeting Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game last November.
The 27-year-old, who came to the Arrowhead Stadium with his girlfriend Ayan Broomfield, had no idea he would click a selfie with the 35-year-old and boyfriend and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in the suite. Tiafoe currently is in Acapulco for the ATP 500 Mexican Open and ahead of the tournament, he opened up about meeting the ‘I Hate It Here’ singer.
We go into this suite, and the first person we see in this suite is Taylor. I’m like, ‘Try to act like you’ve been here before.’ I appreciate greatness so much, and seeing how cool she was, she’s got my ultimate respect. She was very knowledgeable about what I was doing. She was like, ‘Man, we wanted to watch you play in the final at the [US] Open,’ and ‘Trav loves you,’ and this and that.
Frances Tiafoe recounted
According to Tiafoe, Swift was “down to earth” in spite of her fame. He has expressed his hope to meet the ‘Blank Space’ singer again.
We were drinking all day together. She was so cool. One of the most humble people for who she is.

Frances Tiafoe is yet to win title since 2023 Stuttgart Open
Frances Tiafoe was trophyless last year. He started his campaign at the Hong Kong Open and reached just two finals, in Houston and Cincinnati, losing to compatriot Ben Shelton and Jannik Sinner, respectively.

Tiafoe hasn’t yet won an ATP trophy since the 2023 Stuttgart Open. He started his campaign for the 2025 season at the Brisbane International and suffered a straight-set defeat to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the round of 16, following which, he fell to Fabian Marozsan in the second round of the Australian Open.
In Dallas too, the result was no different as Yoshihito Nishioka knocked him out after a three-set win in the round of 16. Tiafoe will now be hoping to make a deep run at the Mexico Open where he will be meeting Alexandre Muller for the first time in his career.
The Frenchman has already clinched the Hong Kong Open, which was also his career’s first ATP title. He then came close to the Rio Open title but fell to Sebastian Baez in the final.
