The world of football has seen crazy propositions in the past but nothing like a 48-year-old international superstar hoping to make a crazy comeback to his country’s league which is deemed as a top-flight footballing competition in Europe. In one such burst of madness, Italy icon and Roma legend, Francesco Totti, has expressed his desire to return to Serie A after witnessing how things have been rolling in recent times.

Francesco Totti has claimed that he is still getting calls from Serie A teams to see whether he would be interested to pull himself out of retirement. In addition to that, the man himself claimed that he would only need two to three months of training to hit his signature stride of greatness back in the yard.

There were Serie A teams that called me. I admit that they made me think a little, a little crazy. It would be difficult, but in life you never say never. There are players who have played many years after the end of their career. It also depends on where you play, with all due respect, but if I were to return to Serie A I would have to train really well. I’d be ready in two to three months — I’m still playing at 48. If I had to do something crazy, I’d do it in Italy, not abroad, but it is crazy.

Francesca Totti told at an event at Sportitalia Village as quoted by ESPN

Totti, who is 48, called it a day from football in 2017. He spent his entire career at Roma, featuring in 786 matches while blasting 307 goals.

Totti also spearheaded the Italian attack for a significant point of time, featuring in 58 international fixtures while scoring nine goals. He was a part of the Azzurri’s World Cup winning squad back in 2006.

Roma might just bring back Daniele de Rossi

Roma has had a shocking start to the Serie A campaign which witnessed them sacking their former coach, Daniele de Rossi. After failing to register a solitary win from the first four games, Giallorossi decided to pull the plug to the reign of de Rossi.

Roma started with a 0-0 draw against Cagliari while losing out to Empoli in their second game. They drew with Juventus in another goalless affair and had another stalemate that followed suit against Genoa.

However, as per the latest report published by AdnKronos, Roma might be considering a shocking return of de Rossi after their defeat against Inter Milan in the last game.

A solitary strike from Lautaro Martinez sank Ivan Juric’s men and that has once again sent ripples through the management of the club. If Daniele de Rossi does return again, it can be one of the craziest comebacks, and that too, within just three months of being sacked.
