UFC 260 : Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou is hardly 10 days away. The heavyweight giants will be clashing in a title rematch, after three years. Francis Ngannou will be looking forward to getting his hands on the heavyweight title, after being outclassed by Stipe Miocic in January 2018.
In the UFC Fight Camp video released by Francis Ngannou himself on his YouTube channel, the ‘Predator’ has revealed that he has roped in Welterweight king and fellow African Kamaru Usman as his cornerman. The footage also shows Ngannou receiving valuable tips from ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’, as the latter has an elite ground-game.
‘This is like a very decisive moment leading up to the fight, so it’s very important to engage with him‘ – Francis Ngannou
Ngannou can be seen saying, “So Kamaru Usman gonna be in my corner for this fight. So it’s good having him here, helping me out for the fight. By this time you need everything, basically, he’s gonna be on my corner and it is good for him to train like where I am and then to bring his own asset into the game. This is like a very decisive moment leading up to the fight, so it’s very important to engage with him. He’s gonna be on my corner helping with my wrestling which is great.” [H/T FirstSportz]
Ngannou was clearly gassed out, the last time he took on Stipe Miocic. The Cameroonian’s wild swings and heaves took a toll on his cardio, and to make things worse, none of those hard punches he threw connected. Given that Kamaru Usman has an impeccable cardio and his wrestling is unparalleled, Ngannou might come into the fight as a different beast.
Will having Kamaru Usman by the corner go a long way in Francis Ngannou beating Stipe Miocic?
