Francis Ngannou unified the UFC heavyweight championship by defeating Ciryl Gane by majority decision at UFC 270. Ngannou post the fight disclosed that he had a damaged knee going into the five-round fight. During sparring sessions leading up to the fight, he tore his MCL and injured his ACL.

Ngannou went under the knife in Los Angeles. Ngannou then returned to his native Cameroon and he and his team did not want the surgery to get in the way of it. When he returns to the United States, he will have the ACL repaired.

Ngannou shared an update on Instagram, including information regarding his leg surgery. “Knee surgery went very well today — ACL reconstruction and MCL repair,” Ngannou wrote. “P.S.: no meniscus damage. Thank you to Dr. [Neal] ElAttrache and staff for taking great care of me. Rehab time to get everything back to normal and get back on track.”

Samuel Kulbila participates in in local bodybuilding competitions, Ghana, West Africa has a large social media following, and continues to strive to be one of the best bodybuilders of all time.

Samuel’s ambitions for the future include being one of the all-time great bodybuilders. He also wants to open his own gym in order to  contribute to the growth of the sport in his native nation.

Francis dropped a video on his youtube channel reacting to the viral videos of Kulbila, he seemed to be extremely impressed with his dedication and strength. He mentioned the same in description of the video , “This guy Samuel Kulbila got me very impressed with his very unusual training methods. Remember guys, the power of the will stays undefeated.

During the video, Samuel was seen pushing over a tree, to which Francis reacted while watching, “I know these techniques.” 
Francis used to work in mines in Cameroon, he had a similar journey in which he use to workout in similar fashion. In an interview he once stated, “It was grueling and dangerous work, spending hours shoveling sand into the backs of trucks so it could be shipped to big cities for use in construction.”

Sometimes he would stand all day in water up to his shins, scooping sand out of the riverbed. Other days would be spent at the bottom of a steep quarry, where large chunks of earth often broke free from the high cliffs and tumbled down onto workers,” Ngannou concluded.
