New York Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez is pretty confident in beating their rivals and winning the World Series title in 2025. In a recent interview, he said that the Mets have “the best lineup in baseball.”

While his comments motivated the team with positivity, the baseball fans were not too happy with his claim. Many commented on him being “delusional” and how the Los Angeles Dodgers are the No.1 in their division.

The NY Mets indeed made some quite significant changes in the roster by adding and re-signing players to boost the group. They signed superstar free agents Juan Soto, Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor, and Mark Vientos among other notable additions.

Third baseman Mark Vientos commented on Francisco Alvarez’s claim saying he’s not too off to say the Mets have one of the solid lineups in 2025. “I think we’ve put together a pretty good lineup that Steve and David put together,” he said.

Francisco Alvarez commented that last year was his “worst year” but as he steps into the 2025 season he is feeling mentally stronger. He admitted that he “lost my mind for a little bit” but he’s moved past those hurdles.

He missed seven weeks after undergoing torn left thumb ligament surgery in April 2024. However, he has now recovered and is looking forward to a strong comeback this season.

Last season, Alvarez recorded 237/.307/.403 with 11 homers and 47 RBIs in 100 games. Now with his thumb recovered, he expressed that he will have “no excuses” for not making 2025 his best year.
