The race of Juan Soto has come to an end. On Sunday, the 26-year-old agreed to an enormous 15-year $765 million with the New York Mets. One of his future teammates’ Francisco Lindor would go on to drop an epic reaction regarding it.

Soto had been the biggest name in the free agency this season. Several teams were eager to splash around $600 million for him. In the last few days, this number crossed the $700 million mark as teams upped their bid to gain an advantage over their rivals.

How will the NY Mets lineup in the 2025 season after landing Juan Soto?

Since the conclusion of the World Series, the name Juan Soto had been on the tongue of the majority of fans. Where he would sign was the question that kept on looming. Now that he has signed with the New York Mets, the question changes to, how will the Mets lineup in 2025?

In the 2024 season, Soto batted as the number 2 hitter behind Aaron Judge. This is something that he is expected to carry on in the 2025 campaign.

Soto is projected to bat as the number 2 batter in the Mets as well. He will bat between Francisco Lindor (the lead-off hitter) and Mark Vientos (the number 3 hitter).

Brandon Nimmo, Starling Marte, and Jeff McNeil will come in as number 4, 5, and 6 hitters. The bottom of the lineup would consist of Tyrone Taylor, Francisco Alvarez, and Brett Baty.

A high-profile name that is not projected on this list is Pete Alonso. The four-time MLB All-Star has become a free agent. If the Mets do end up re-signing him, he could easily replace Marte in the Designated Hitter spot.
