New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor talks about the team’s 7-3 win over Colorado Rockies amid All-Star noise on Saturday. He boldly claimed he does not need motivation to fuel him on the field and the All-Star snub has not bothered him at all.
During an interview, ‘Mr. Smile’ was questioned if he was irked with the “lack of recognition” for the 2024 invitation but he said all he needs to do is win games and boost the team for playoff chances. Apart from that, he is not concerned with All-Star Game snub.
The team’s initial regular season performance had been underwhelming with a record of 24-35 on June 2. Since then, the NY Mets have pushed forth in offense, boosting the team’s wild-card chances to 49-45, standing third in the NL East.
Francisco Lindor believes as long as he works hard for the team, he’ll be recognized and even if he doesn’t, all he needs to do is “staying focused on my daily job.” He further added,
I mean, I don’t need motivation. To me, motivation is something that you try to find when you don’t really want to do things. I have the discipline to go out there and do what I gotta do…If they don’t want to recognize me, it is what it is.Francisco Lindor on X.
Francisco Lindor was asked about the "lack of recognition" for being one of the best players in the game:

Lindor expressed that he is happy as long as he can “help this franchise be the best franchise in the world”. Currently, the team’s aim is to keep focus on the playoff berth race. After Saturday’s win, the team unfortunately lost against the Rockies in their latest clash with a 5-8 record.
NY Mets manager Carlos Mendoza talks about Francisco Lindor’s All-Star snub
New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza spoke about shortstop Francisco Lindor’s recent lack of recognition. He expressed how people don’t “appreciate or recognize what he brings to the baseball field, what he means to this team.”
Mendoza recalls asking this same question himself about Lindor’s lack of accolades, saying he the joy, passion, and care he brings to the field and locker room can’t be compared to anything. Appreciating, Lindor’s recent performance, he said,
Great player. He’s been doing it for a long time…He never stops. He’s always looking for ways to improve.Carlos Mendoza as per Jared Schwartz of NY Post.
