Frank De Boer believes Donny Van de Beek might leave Manchester United due to lack of playing time
Netherlands head coach Frank De Boer says that Manchester United midfielder Donny Van De Beek isn’t happy at the club. However he insists that Van de Beek is focused on improving at the club at not interested to move away.
Donny Van de Beek joined Manchester United last September from Ajax for a reported fee of around $56 million. He has managed to make just the 13 Premier League appearances out of which 11 have come from the bench.
Donny Van de Beek hasn’t cemented his place
Van de Beek has been given substantial time in cup competitions but has managed to contribute only 1 goal and 1 assist so far. Much of the lack of trust can be attributed to Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Fred being higher up the pecking order.
The Dutch coach Frank De Boer has insisted that Van de Beek isn’t happy with his situation but will not be quitting so early. Ole Gunnar Solskjær has constantly defended Van de Beek but not given him enough time to prove himself.
I spoke to Ajax and they said there’s no truth in it at all. He didn’t ask to speak to them,” the Netherlands head coach told talkSPORT. “He’s just focusing on his recovery on his ankle, and it’s not true that he asked Man Utd to leave.
