Frank Lampard confirmed that Kepa Arrizabalaga will start against Krasnodar
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that Kepa Arrizabalaga will be given a chance against Krasnodar in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
The Spanish goalkeeper has been left on the sidelines ever since the arrival of Eduoard Mendy in the side. Arrizabalaga made some howlers which made Lampard lose all faith in him.
Kepa Arrizabalaga will be starting against Krasnodar
Kepa came into the side in the summer of 2018/19 under Maurizio Sarri and was the most expensive goalkeeper at the time at an estimated value of 72 million pounds.
However his performances in the 2019/20 season has been disastrous to say the least and his saves have diminished to almost nil. Hence he lost his place to Eduoard Mendy at goal.
I’m very pleased with Kepa. His reaction has been absolutely spot-on,’ the Chelsea boss said on Monday. ‘Tomorrow is obviously an opportunity to give Edou a rest and give Kepa a game. He’s training well and deserves it.’
It’s not something you can switch on and off, the idea that we must win and be successful. That’s what I want to see — the right attitude,’ Lampard said.
Frank Lampard confirmed that Billy Gilmour will be starting at Stamford Bridge. The 19 year old midfielder is a sensation to say the least.
Hakim Ziyech suffered a hamstring injury against Leeds United and will be missing out along with Callum Hudson Odoi as well.
