Frank Lampard is upset that Roman Abramovich didn’t give him more time
The blues boss was axed by the club’s hierarchy on Monday. Frank Lampard managed the club for a little over 18 months wherein he secured top four in his first season.
Thomas Tuchel is the next coach appointed by the blues. Tuchel was earlier released by Paris Saint Germain this season. He will be in charge of the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge.
Frank Lampard disappointed with Roman Abramovich
Chelsea have the habit of getting rid of managers far to early without giving them a proper opportunity to implement their ideas. Owner Roman Abramovich has little patience and is mostly concerned with success.
This mentality although flawed is something that has made them the most successful English club over the last 20 years. You can question the philosophy but you can’t question the reality.
The same was applied to Jose Mourinho, Claudio Ranieri, Antonio Conte, Roberto Di Matteo and now Frank Lampard. If you can’t provide results out you go of the club.
“When I took on this role I understood the challenges that lay ahead in a difficult time for the football club,” he said.
“I am proud of the achievements that we made, and I am proud of the Academy players that have made their step into the first team and performed well. They are the future of the club.
“I am disappointed not to have had the time this season to take the club forward and bring it to the next level. I want to thank Mr Abramovich, the board, players, my coaching team and everyone at the club for their hard work and dedication, especially in these unprecedented and challenging times.”
