Frankie Edgar says he proved all his critics wrong
During the post fight interview Frankie Edgar told Jon Tanik, “I got my feet wet. I think the sky’s the limit for myself. I didn’t look slow in there. Pedro’s a top dog, and that makes me a top dog.”
Edgar was suffering back to back losses in his laat division and a lot of doubt was over his ability to co.pete at the highest level. But now, after a victory over the fifth ranked bantamweight, he feels he has proved all of his critics wrong.
“I head a lot of MFers barking that I’m old, I’m slow,” Edgar said. “I definitely proved them all wrong. I still got some fight in this tank, baby, and we’re gonna make a run at 135.
“I was number five and that (win) might’ve put me in the top five. Three weight classes, I’m showing I could compete with the best at 38 years old. I don’t want to hear nothing from anybody.”
With this win over Munhoz, Frankie Edgar finally ended his two-year victory drought. He improved his record to 24-8-1 now.
