As the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers took to the field for Game 4 on Tuesday night, many expected a sweep for the Dodgers. However, the Yankees fought back hard and forced a Game 5. After the game, Freddie Freeman labeled them as one of the “best teams” in MLB.

The Bronx Bombers are making their first appearance in the World Series since their last triumph in 2009. In their return to the Fall Classic, the Yankees suffered three consecutive losses which put them on the brink of getting swept.

A grand slam from Anthony Volpe, a three-run home run by Gleyber Torres, and a solo shot by Austin Wells propelled the Yankees to an 11-4 victory and forced a Game 5.

Speaking to the media in the clubhouse after the game, Freeman was asked about the outing by their opponents and whether he was surprised by it. The first baseman said he was not and hoped that Jack Flaherty, their starter for Game 5, could keep the Yankees down.

I’m not surprised. They’re in the World Series. They’re one of the best teams in this game, so we knew what we were going to be tasked with tonight. They just had their bats going today, so hopefully Jack calms them down and we score more runs than them.

In this game, Freeman created another piece of history. The 35-year-old hit his fourth home run in the World Series this year. His two-run shot in the first innings gave his side a 2-0 lead. By doing so, he became the first player to hit a home run in 6 consecutive World Series games.

This historic feat of Freeman might have been overshadowed by the heroics of Volpe and his teammates. However, the Dodgers still have a strong hold on this series and can wrap up the 2024 MLB season with a victory on Wednesday night.

Freddie Freeman claims it’s “not going to be easy” to face Gerrit Cole again in Game 5

In Game 5 of the World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers will go up against Gerrit Cole, the ace of the New York Yankees. Ahead of facing him on Wednesday night, Freddie Freeman admitted that it is “not going to be easy” to face him again.

The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner had an impressive showing in Game 1 as he restricted the Dodgers lineup. The decision to remove him from that game by Aaron Boone raised several eyebrows.

Cole will now take his place on the mound in Game 5 in an attempt to force Game 6. Freeman, who faced him four days ago, managed to get a triple off him despite an ankle injury.

Yeah, I mean, it’s always nice to face someone a few days ago, but he’s still one of the best pitchers in the game. It’s not gonna be easy. So, we got our hands full. So, hopefully, Jack throws a good game and we can score some more runs.

Freddie Freeman said in a press conference

Game 5 of the World Series kicks off at 5:08 p.m. ET (8:08 p.m. PT). If the Yankees win, they will force Game 6, which will be played at the Dodgers Stadium in California on Friday night.
