New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton blasted off a jaw-dropping 412-foot home run into the left-field seats in Game 1 of the World Series. His HR off of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Jack Flaherty stunned the series opener at Dodgers Stadium.

The announcers could be heard shouting that the HR “scraped the sky” as the fans cheered in pure amazement. Even fans at MSG who were thousands of miles away celebrated the home run chanting, “Let’s go Yankees!” at the New York Knicks game.

However, Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman had one of the best reactions to Giancarlo Stanton’s moonshot. His jaw dropped as he folded his arms and just stared away at the flying home run.

Although the Dodgers won Game 1 with a 6-3 score, no one in the crowd and stadium could deny admiration at Stanton’s shot. It is recorded as the hardest-hit ball in the World Series in MLB since 2015. Adding up his postseason records, he became the 2nd player to homer twice in four straight postseason games.

Giancarlo Stanton’s determination for World Series remains unbroken

Even before the World Series started, NY Yankees Giancarlo Stanton confidently stated that he was aiming for the ring after winning the ALCS MVP award. “This ain’t the trophy I want. I want the next one,” he said.

Stanton has been coming to the Dodger Stadium since he was a kid. He has never failed to leave a little souvenir for the city, and Friday he delivered another one off of a 116.6 mph shot.

Popular sports commentator John Sterling had one of the best commentaries on Giancarlo Stanton’s HR. With full of energy, and amazement, he shouted,

It is a STANTONIAN HOME RUN! Ohhhhh did he hit that one! High and Far and DEEP to Left Field to give the Yankees the LEAD!

Stanton’s 17th home run in the postseason ties him with baseball personalities like David Ortiz, Jim Thome, and Bryce Harper. The game has just begun and it hit off right with a blast, literally.
