John Cena shocked the world when he announced his retirement from wrestling at the Money in the Bank PLE. The entire wrestling community was deeply saddened by the news, as he had served as the company’s leading face for a decade. However, during his time at the top, he was allegedly not a fan of a former WWE writer. The name in question is Freddie Prinze Jr.

The Hollywood actor worked for WWE from 2008 to 2009 and then again from 2010 to 2012. During a recent episode of his podcast, Wrestling With Freddie, he talked about his first meeting with John Cena. Freddie Prinze Jr. stated that when he went to meet The Leader of the Cenation, the latter didn’t even acknowledge him at first.

Speaking of his retirement, Big Match John expressed his desire to win a record 17th world title but also admitted that he has to work hard to earn it.

When I got there he [John Cena] did not want me there at all. And I remember the first time I met him, I was super polite, put my hand out to shake his hand, he walked right past and didn’t even like, acknowledge me.

The EST of WWE shared the best advice Cena ever gave her in an interview with US Magazine. She stated that when she lost the title to Becky Lynch in just 26 seconds at SummerSlam, she was devastated. In that difficult moment, the Leader of the Cenation pulled her aside and explained the business to her, teaching her how to rise to the top from the bottom.

The biggest gem he ever gave me was after SummerSlam when I lost in 26 seconds. I had just main evented WrestleMania. I had all this momentum, and then lost in 26 seconds. I was so defeated. He pulled me aside and really spoke life into me.
